Two strains at 2 billion CFU in one daily capsule: Lactobacillus rhamnosus GR-1® and Lactobacillus reuteri RC-14®, the pairing studied together in published human trials.
What it supports
- Helps maintain healthy vaginal microflora
- Supports urogenital tract health
- Helps maintain a healthy vaginal pH
- Two strains with published human research behind them
Why the strain matters more than the species
Probiotic research does not generalize across a species. Findings belong to the specific strain that was tested, which is why a label reading only Lactobacillus rhamnosus tells you almost nothing. GR-1 and RC-14 are strain designations, and they are the ones that appear in the published work on the vaginal and urinary tract microbiome.
A healthy vaginal environment is mildly acidic and dominated by Lactobacillus species that produce lactic acid and hold pH near 4. That balance shifts naturally with cycle, with age, and after a course of antibiotics.
