About GO Thyme Digestive Enzymes
GO Thyme Digestive Enzymes is a comprehensive, full-spectrum enzyme blend strategically designed to support each phase of digestion and maximize nutrient absorption. Poor digestion can produce bloating, gas, cramping, diarrhea, constipation, and food intolerances. Incomplete digestion of food proteins may also be linked to food allergies, and improper digestion can cause foods to ferment in the gut — leading to the proliferation of harmful bacteria and yeast at the expense of beneficial intestinal flora.
GO Thyme Digestive Enzymes works across two key phases of digestion. In the gastric phase, betaine HCl and pepsin prime the stomach with proper pH to initiate digestion. In the enteric phase, high-concentration protease, amylase, lipase, and trypsin are released in the small intestine to ensure complete protein breakdown and fat absorption.
Key Benefits
- Supports healthy digestion and maximizes nutrient absorption
- Supports gastric acid balance and digestive function
- Provides protease-rich digestive enzymes for improved protein breakdown
- Helps maintain healthy gastrointestinal flora
- Full-spectrum formula covering both gastric and enteric phases of digestion
Enzyme & Stomach Acid Depletion
Stomach acid and healthy digestive enzymes are essential for accessing nutrients from food. Depletion of enzymes and hydrochloric acid — which naturally occurs with age and stress — may result in suboptimal nutritional status even with a healthy diet. Common symptoms of low gastric acidity include bloating, belching, burning and flatulence after meals, a sense of fullness after eating, indigestion, diarrhea or constipation, multiple food sensitivities, and nausea after taking supplements.
Gastric Phase Digestion (Stomach)
Betaine hydrochloride is an acidic form of betaine used in the gastric phase to help bring the stomach to a more acidic pH to aid digestion. Studies have shown that the ability to secrete gastric acid decreases with age. GO Thyme Digestive Enzymes also contains pepsin, a protease secreted in the stomach by chief cells, for added digestive power in the gastric phase.
Enteric Phase Digestion (Small Intestine)
Pancreatin, bromelain, papain, and ox bile extract support enteric phase digestion in the small intestine for further breakdown of proteins and fats. Pancreatin extract is composed of three different enzymes — amylase, lipase, and protease — that help digest starch, protein, and fat. Lipase works with ox bile extract to emulsify and digest fats. Papain, a protease derived from papaya, can help digest wheat gluten and render it harmless in those who are gluten sensitive. Bromelain, an enzyme extracted from pineapple, aids in protein digestion and has been shown to help maintain normal levels of inflammation.
